Revised Aquatic Calendar 2018




Kindly note that ASUM's calendar has been updated with the changes of the following dates :

27-29 July, 2018 : ASUM/MILO/NSC Swim Splash Leg 2 - Melaka

23-25 Nov, 2018 : 37th National Inter-Club Swimming Championship 2018 for the President Cup - Ipoh, Perak.


The hosts and venues remain unchanged.

PRAKL gets administration grant from MSWP

The weekend was filled with activities organised by Majlis Sukan Wilayah Persekutuan (MSWP) at MyTown, Kuala Lumpur and part of the program was to deliver the administration grants to 38 sport associations and NGOs in the Federal Territory.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Senator Dato' Dr. Loga Bala Mohan, the Deputy Minister of Federal Territory and the awards were presented by YB. Dato' Loga alongside other VIPs and Executive Director of MSWP, Dato' Mohd Razlan Rafii.

PRAKL is grateful of MSWP's assistance and support in its development in aquatic sports. The President, Mr Teo Mua Seng, Honorary Secretary, Ms Mae Chen and Assistant Secretary, Ms Nancy Yap were present to receive the grant.

Sign-Up as a Swim Meet Volunteer Now


If you are 15 years old and above,  passionate in swimming sport  and  interested to be part of the officials to run swim meets in Kuala Lumpur,  please sign-up as a volunteer now.

Offers will be made to volunteers willing to contribute their service for the entire days/duration of the swim meet to avoid disruption of duties. Certificates of appreciations will be awarded and technical logbook will be endorsed by the organiser. Meals and allowance will be given too.

Successful selection will be notified by Kuala Lumpur Amateur Swimming Association (Persatuan Renang Amatur Kuala Lumpur) prior to the meet. For enquiry please email Ms Jessie Aw at praklumpur@gmail.com.

Invitation to ASUM/NSC/MILO Junior Splash Swim Leg 1, 2018 at National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil 11-13 May 2018



The Kuala Lumpur Amateur Swimming Association (PRAKL) is pleased to extend invitation to all swimmers of affiliated clubs of ASUM and schools affiliated to PRAKL to participate in the Leg 1 of  ASUM/NSC/MILO JUNIOR SPLASH SWIM 2018 as follows:-

Karnival Bakat Pelapis Negeri Siri 1/2018

The Karnival Bakat Pelapis Negeri 1/2018 has just been ended on Friday from 8th to 9th March 2018 at Pusat Akuatik Paroi, Negeri Sembilan. The meet was organized by Majlis Sukan Negara for the states development squads under the respective Unit Sukan Prestasi Tinggi Negeri (USPTN) and launched by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Khairy Jamaludin Abu Bakar.


The KL contingent sent a total of 44 young and energetic swimmers to the meet in 4 teams and managed to clinch a total of 2 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze.

Representing Pelapis KL1, Duran Yaspi, 10 our group 4 boy, who made the first medal debut for individual event won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle respectively. He managed to improve quiet significantly from his previous PBs and is showing signs that he is highly potential to progress even better this year.

Also representing Pelapis KL1, Ho Jia Ming, 11 collected a gold and a bronze in 100m butterfly and 50m backstroke respectively.

Dylan Wong Wei Han, 12 garnered 3 silvers in 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 1 bronze in 100m breaststroke.

Our cute little Group 5 girl swimmer, Wong Joelyne, 7 maybe small in size but gutsy enough to seize 2 silvers in 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle, 2 bronze in 50m breaststroke and 100m backstroke. She's an inspiration to many being at a disadvantage age but yet able to grab medals.

Yap Zhen Kok, 7 nicknamed the ‘Harry Porter’ swimmer also surged first time in winning his individual event by taking back home a bronze in group 5 - 100m butterfly, an event he competed for the first time in 100m.

Meanwhile Chong Kyson, 10, represented Ikan Bilis Swimming Club. He finally made a maiden medal debut for individual event when he swam to a bronze in Group 4 - 50m freestyle with quiet an impressive time of 34.72 and made his parents proud of his feat.

In the junior event below 7 years old, Ahmad Shaheer Khalid, 6 took a silver medal in Group 6 - back kick with board.

The carnival created the opportunities for the junior swimmers to learn techniques and rules of the swimming competition as well as a chance to make new friends at the meet.

61st MILO/PRAM Malaysia Open Swimming Championships 2018




Invite is received from Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia for the 61st MILO/PRAM Malaysia Open Swimming Championships 2018 as follows :

Date : 3-6 May, 2018
Venue : National Aquatic Centre, Kuala Lumpur Sports City, Bukit Jalil
Start Time : Heat 9:00 am and Finals 5:00 pm.

Qualifying Meet to : 2018 Youth Olympic Games

Entry of of KL Team is via qualification from the 54th Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships 2018 (15-18 March, 2018) for swimmers achieving 580 FINA points and above for any one event swum. The PRAKL Swim Committee reserves its rights in deciding the final selection of the swimmers to 61st MILO/PRAM Malaysia Open Swimming Championships 2018.
